The burqa is the same as the ghafashi or cat mask made with leather, chains, and all silver jewelry. It is elegant, stylish, and sturdy. It is a native craft and art of Qeshm Island. It does not shed any jewelry. It is easily and comfortably tied and fixed on the face. This mask is known as the bridal mask. The burqa or Bandari niqab is a traditional and indigenous covering worn by women in southern Iran, especially in the provinces of Hormozgan and Bushehr. This type of niqab is made of durable fabrics and decorated using the techniques of Golabtundozi (a type of decorative stitching with metallic threads), which is a native art of these regions.
